Artist Websites
I created a website for artist Molly Springfield, who describes her work as follows: "I make drawings, paintings and digital images that draw on texts and text-bearing objects— from personal notes that I’ve saved from friends in high school, to receipts from the hardware store, to passages from Proust. I often perform acts of repetition, concealment, or recontextualization on the texts in an attempt to explore how the viewer encounters illegibility— the way in which we continue to “read” for meaning where none is readily available." The design of the site reflects Ms. Springfield's minimalist aesthetic and her obsession with handrwitten text. For navigation, the site uses scans of handwritten index cards created by her. Visit Molly Springfield In additon to Ms. Springfield's own site, I created a website for a group show of hers called "The Opening Band," which showed at the I-5 Gallery in the Brewery Arts Complex here in Los Angeles.
